How to Make your own Sound Effects

You will need to download the free MIDI Keyboard to complete this exercise.

You will also need to open your Windows Sound Recorder or use the sound recorder in Fx Audio Editor, Fx Audio Tools or Fx Magic Music. To avoid being too self-promoting, we will use the Windows Sound Recorder.

From the MIDI Keyboard select Gunshot.

Start recording and press a key to create the bursts. We used the F key.

Here's what we created.

• MIDISoundEffects/gunshots.wav

Select New from the recorder menu and start again:

• MIDISoundEffects/applause.wav

• MIDISoundEffects/birdsong.wav

• MIDISoundEffects/gunshots.wav

• MIDISoundEffects/helicopter.wav

You can also join sounds of all types to make complex sound effects.
