Binary File Splitter

This utility may be used to split files of various types into smaller pieces so that they can be copied to floppy disks, CD's, other portable media or sent via email. The splitting process will also create a Batch file which can be executed from a command prompt or from Windows Explorer that will rejoin the pieces into the original file.

This software should not be confused with an editor. In most cases you cannot use this utility to break files into smaller useful pieces because only the first piece will have the file header information required to open it. For example if you spilt a sound or video file using this tool, the first piece may actually play back but the remaining pieces will be useless on their own. To split files into useful pieces you will need special software that can re-encode each piece and create new header information for each piece.
