Animation Exercise

To complete this exercise you'll need Microsoft paint and an animator. If you don't have an animator you can use Fx, Joiner as a crude animator. Download a free, fully functional, 30 day demo from this page.

To download the images to your computer, right click on the links below and choose Save Target As...

  1. Rabbit001.gif

  2. Rabbit002.gif

  3. Rabbit003.gif

  4. Rabbit004.gif

  5. Rabbit005.gif

  6. Rabbit006.gif

  7. Rabbit007.gif

  8. Rabbit008.gif

Load the images into the Video From Images tool.

Set the width and height of the movie to match the width and height of the wisest image.

Set the frame rate and the number of images that should be displayed in one second.

A frame rate of 1 will display each image for one second. A frame rate of 2 will display each image for 1/2 second.

We used the Microsoft Video 1 codec here but you can use any that you like

You will notice that some of the images in the AVI file have been stretched to fit the frame size that we specified. GIF Animations allow for multiple files sizes framed within a bounding size where AVI files demand that all frames be of the same size.

If you're interested in the animated GIF format, try this same exercise using Microsoft GIF Animator.
